LOCATION OF OCCURRENCE: OCEAN SPEEDWAY- 2601 E. LAKE AVENUE, WATSONVILLE

Join us Friday, August 13th, for an exciting evening of car racing from 6:00-10:00   pm. Come watch Santa Cruz County, Santa Clara County, and San Benito County law enforcement officers in pursuit of one another in a 15-lap race. Ten officers representing Scotts Valley, Capitola, the Sheriff’s Department, CHP, San Benito, and Gilroy will be putting the pedal to the metal for the top spot and bragging rights. Law Enforcement, in partnership with their communities, supports Special Olympics programs which enhance the quality of life for Special Olympicsathletes.  For ticket information visit,  https://www.oceanspeedway.com/schedules/

Proceeds from the “Police in Pursuit” event assist in allowing Special Olympics Northern California to provide year-round free sports training and competition to children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and at no cost to them or their families. In Northern California about 21,000 Special Olympics athletes’ lives are enriched every day because of their participation in Special Olympics. Special Olympics is more than sports: it is training for life! Athletes gain confidence and self-esteem which carries over into their everyday lives, helping them to be contributing members in their community.

Community Impact: Although as few as 10 percent Americans with intellectual disabilities are employed, 52 percent of Special Olympics athletes have jobs. If you want to support Special Olympics you can donate to your favorite Officer or Agency at www.policeinpursuit.com
