On Monday March 16, Santa Cruz County and other Bay Area counties announced sweeping orders requiring residents to stay home except for essential needs. On Thursday March 19 California Governor Gavin Newsom enacted a statewide order to “Shelter in Place” that began Friday March 20 with no particular end date yet determined.
In this order, everyone is required to stay home except to get food, care for a relative or friend, get necessary health care, or go to an essential job. If you go out, keep at least 6 feet of distance.

“Non-essential” businesses in California will be required to close.
