The Friends of the Scotts Valley Library are hosting a book talk with Edward Weingold, author of A Map of the World (With All Faults). The event will feature a short talk by the author, a question and answer session, plus an opportunity to purchase an autographed copy of The Map of the World. The event is free and all are welcome. Sponsored by the Friends of Scotts Valley Library, a chapter of the Friends of the Santa Cruz Public Libraries. For more information about Friends of the Scotts Valley Library, see www.fsvpl.org.

A bloodstained map published in the very first atlas of the world (1570) comes up for sale at a San Francisco auction house in 2016. The novel charts the journey of the map through WWII and its impact on all the owners from its creation to the adult daughter of the little girl who was hidden from the Nazis in 1944. The search to find the provenance of the map takes readers on a journey to the Lowlands and London in the 1570s, the Netherlands and Germany in the 1940s and the San Francisco Bay Area in current times. Through the eyes of the three families, the novel explores religious intolerance in each of these time periods in which the principal characters are drawn together by multiple mysteries surrounding the map. A Map of the World is a spellbinding page- turner.
