CALLING PEOPLE IN: Having difficult Conversations about Racism and White Supremacy – United Against Hate Week

November 19, 2022 @ 11:00 am - 12:30 pm

Free

Hosted by SURJ of Santa Cruz County (Showing Up for Racial Justice)

What is calling in? In fostering spaces of inclusion and belonging, it is important to recognize, name, and address when individuals or groups with marginalized identities are experiencing harm, such as bias or discrimination. The concepts of “calling out” or “calling in” have become popular ways of thinking about how to bring attention to this type of harm. Knowing the difference between these concepts can help us reflect, then act, in the ways we feel will best promote constructive change.

Registration is required. Register Here: https://us02web.zoom.us/meeting/register/tZMrceqprDIrG9XENxeD4DFsYjCePrsEbyEa

This program is part of the United Against Hate Week suite of events happening November 13 through 20th throughout Santa Cruz County, Sponsored by Santa Cruz County for Safe and Inclusive Communities (SCCUSIC), The Resource Center for Nonviolence (RCNV), and the Santa Cruz Public Libraries (SCPL).
