Santa Cruz Mission State Historic Park Anniversary Lecture, “The Santa Cruz Mission: Indigenous Experience, Then and Now”

In celebration of this 25th anniversary, Santa Cruz Mission State Historic Park will hold a three-part lecture series about the history of the Mission. The first talk, “The Santa Cruz Mission: Indigenous Experience, Then and Now” will be Thursday, Sept. 15. The lecture will feature Martin Rizzo, a UC-Santa Cruz PhD candidate speaking about indigenous survival and perseverance, Val Lopez, chairperson of the Amah Mutsun Tribal Band – Amah Mutsun Stewardship, and collaboration with California State Parks.

All events will be held at the Santa Cruz Mission State Historic Park, 144 School St., Santa Cruz. The reception will be from 6:30-7 p.m., lecture begins at 7 p.m.. Please dress warmly. Collaboration of California State Parks and Friends of Santa Cruz State Parks.
