Mindfulness is popular today. It is talked about everywhere. But where did the teachings of mindfulness come from? The form that is most commonly taught is from ancient Buddhist meditation.
We will learn about the Buddha’s teachings on the “Four Foundations of Mindfulness”:
• Mindfulness of the body and senses
• Mindfulness of the feeling of pleasant, unpleasant and neutral
• Mindfulness of the mind, including thoughts and emotions
• Mindfulness of the patterns and nature of reality
Mindfulness brings greater flexibility in responding to the inevitable stresses of life. We can learn to meet all experience – including illness, chronic pain, loss, unhealthy habits, and anxiety – with understanding and balance.
This class will include:
• meditation instructions and meditations sessions
• group discussion and Q & A
• weekly guided audio and readings
• By donation.
• Suggested sliding scale of $80 – $250.
• No one will be turned away due to lack of funds.
