SCOTTS VALLEY FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT HONORS MIKE PASQUINI AND TIM THEILEN FOR 30 YEARS OF SERVICE

Began their fire service career as volunteers in 1984

Scotts Valley, California, November 20, 2014 – The Scotts Valley Fire Protection District (SVFPD) Board of Directors honored Captain Mike Pasquini and Battalion Chief Tim Theilen with proclamations recognizing their thirty years of service, at their monthly board meeting.

Pasquini and Theilen both began their fire service careers as a volunteer firefighters on November 17, 1984.

Pasquini became a paid firefighter on August 5, 1985, and was promoted to Driver/Operator in 1988 and Captain in 1990.

Theilen became a paid firefighter on January 1, 1988, and was promoted to Driver/Operator in 1991, Captain in 2001 and Battalion Chief in 2002.

They join other current fire district employees with thirty years of service: Battalion Chiefs Jim Delucchi and Ron Whittle and Captains Pete Stelling, John Crivello and Butch Theilen.

SVFPD provides year round fire protection services, including paramedic services, to twenty-two and one-half square mile area from the Santa Cruz city limits to Laurel Curve from Henry Cowell State Park to Glen Canyon/Vine Hill Roads and includes all of the City of Scotts Valley. The population of the District is approximately eighteen thousand six hundred, including about eleven thousand within the city limits. SVFPD is governed by an elected board of five citizens and responded to 1,716 calls for service in 2013, from its two fire stations.
