Andy and the Casual Funk is a laid-back funk/soul band hailing from Santa Cruz. The group features Andy Perlitch on vocals and saxophones, Mark Thomas on trumpet and keys, Duncan Shipton and Cameron Smith on guitars, Rowan DeCosse-Graves on drums, and Thomas Langan on bass.
Formed in 2023, the band brings together seasoned musicians from the Scotts Valley and Santa Cruz scenes. Influenced by artists like The Dip, Vulfpeck, Medeski Martin and Wood, and the Greyboy Allstars, their sound blends funk, soul, and jazz fusion.
