“Around the World in 80 Photographs: Above and Below our threatened Oceans through the camera of Marc Shargel”
SCOTTS VALLEY BRANCH LIBRARY, Fireside Room
Marc Shargel, photographer and marine conservationist, kicks off his Above, Below and Around the World exhibit at the Scotts Valley Library with an all-ages, family-friendly illustrated presentation featuring iconic American western landscapes, eclipse photography and a photographic chronicle of the beautiful but now-threatened kelp forests found just beneath our local waters. A limited selection of Marc’s books and notecards will be available for purchase. Refreshments will be provided by the Friends of the Scotts Valley Library.
Marc will also document the shocking disappearance of California’s kelp forests over the last 10 years, the complex ecology behind it, and steps we can take to protect them.
