✨ Join us for an enchanting evening at The Felton Mercantile! This is a liminal time when the veil between our world and that of the Otherworld is thin. Samhain (pronounced sow-when) is a traditional Celtic festival celebrating the end of the harvest season and the beginning of winter. It survives as modern Halloween, and we can trace the origins of our beloved night of trick-or-treating all the way back to the Neolithic. Now is your chance to immerse yourself in the history, folklore, food, and crafts of this ancient holiday often known as the Celtic New Year.

🍂Our ritual and discussion will transport you to another realm, strengthening your bond with your ancestors and the land, for without context and understanding of where we come from, how can we truly know the present? Connect with like-minded individuals during our crafting session, embrace the spirit of the season, and experience the enchantment of Samhain like never before. “As with all of my educational offerings, I draw upon my background both as a writer and as a student. I have a BA in English which included an array of literature courses, along with a minor in Humanities. Both degrees not only built a strong foundation for my education but also launched me to receive my Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing.

While we may not all share the genetics of European ancestry, those of us under the influence of Western culture have certainly inherited a multitude of European cultural customs, including holidays. I have termed these collective ancestors as ‘beforefolk’ since they are those who came before, but may not be all our ancestors in the true sense. Nevertheless, these teachings are open to all.”
