The Scotts Valley Water District Board of Directors is accepting applications for four community members for open committee positions and two Junior Associate Board Members positions.

The deadline to apply is Jan. 10, 2024. Stipends are available.

Community Member Committee Positions

Community member positions on District committees are ideal for those interested in local government, civic service, local water supply and how a water agency operates.

Eligibility and Term:

  • Reside or work in the District service area
  • Age 18 or over
  • Attend monthly meetings
  • Two-year commitment, January 2024-December 2025

The District is recruiting two people each for the Finance & Personnel Committee and Engineering & Water Resources Committee. Apply here.

To be considered for an appointment, submit an online application and upload your resume by 5:00 p.m. on Jan. 10, 2024. Interviews with the Board of Directors will be scheduled for the evening of Jan. 11, 2024.

Junior Associate Board Member Program

The District’s Junior Associate Board Member Program is a first-of-its-kind among water districts in California, creating opportunities to increase awareness about District activities, engage the community and bring a greater diversity of opinions into the decision-making process.

Eligibility and Term

  • Reside, work or attend school in the District service area
  • Age 16 to 30
  • Interest in local government and civic service
  • Availability to attend monthly board meetings and review meeting materials in advance
  • No more than one member from a household
  • Two-year commitment, January 2024-December 2025

As non-voting advisors, Junior Associate Board Members attend monthly Board meetings and participate in Board discussions to provide additional input and perspectives. Two are selected for each term. Apply here.
