The San Lorenzo Valley Water District (SLVWD) is accepting grant proposals for educational and other projects that enhance the understanding of the San Lorenzo River watershed or improve the watershed’s environmental health.

Projects may include: classroom watershed education for students; outdoor watershed education, such as educational hikes or science camps; or community/public education.

The grants are administered by the District’s Education Program Advisory Commission. Established in 2003, the Commission allocates program grants and scholarships.

The total amount available for the 2016 grants is $17,500. Each individual grant may be up to $2,500, with an additional $500 available for an optional public outreach component.
