Robert started his real estate career as a licensee in 1986 and knew since he was about 14 years old that this was the career path he wanted to follow. He has based his career on serving the community, helping to educate the community on real estate matters, working diligently to uphold professional standards in the profession, and providing assistance to those in need of guidance throughout the years.
Robert has also been called upon and continues to be called upon by the real estate industry to assist and educate fellow real estate practitioners on a variety of topics including professional standards, technology, and numerous other topics that he has been asked to train fellow real estate agents on. He has held a position as a State Director and Vice-Chair for the California Association of REALTORS®.
He was also once a nationally syndicated real estate journalist and has also been featured in the San Jose Mercury News, AOL News, Forbes, Inman News, Business Week, and many others. Robert appeared on HGTV’s hit show “Sleep on It” and NBC’s “Best of the Bay”, and was also the host of TV and Radio’s “Let’s Talk Real Estate!” for over 15 years.
Robert was voted Man of the Year in Scotts Valley for his contributions to the community in 2014 and is a constant contributor to the community and schools.

Robert is a what you want in a real estate agent. He was well prepared in his initial presentation and had an excellent "game plan" for selling our house.
His best trait is his constant communication. I like to be well informed and he updates you on every aspect of the selling process as often as you want. Robert is available full-time, including early morning and evenings and does whatever it takes to get the job done. He is a skillful and experienced negotiator and salesperson. The results of our sale met or exceeded our expectations in every way.

Robert's marketing plan is top notch. His photos, videos, and website are what sell your house. He and his team are willing to do open houses as often as necessary. He also has so many contacts to help prepare your house for sale, painters, inspectors, repair persons, cleaners, etc.
We chose Robert mainly because of his marketing capabilities and his successful sales history. He is far outpacing all other brokers in Scotts Valley sales.
Once hired, Robert did not disappoint. He was extremely organized. He was quite diligent on following through on all commitments. He kept us informed throughout the process, including quickly returning all calls and texts. He always made certain we were good with any actions he planned to take and made sure to incorporate our suggestions.

I first met Robert while casually looking at open houses as we were not really looking to buy anything at the moment. However, we ended up really liking a house where Robert was fortunately the listing agent. Robert walked us through options, and I immediately felt at ease as he was super objective, professional, and GENUINE. Robert gave us options on our current house, walked us through current estimates, and listened to my long list of requirements to make the deal work. We ended up feeling so comfortable with Robert, we wanted him to represent the sale of our house house as well.
During the sale/purchase of our home, Robert made himself available at every moment during the process, making me feel like his most important (and only) client. One aspect I didn't anticipate in this process is that I would be gaining a lifetime friend. Robert went of his way to introduce us to new neighbors, brought thoughtful gifts to my children, joined me for mountain bike rides, and still answers all my texts/calls as if I am the most important client. I really can't praise Robert enough, as he made the entire process so easy.
Furthermore, he still follow-ups and gets things done even when it's not his responsibility. Robert is a great realtor -- going in to our sale and purchase, I knew the that his social media presence and My Scotts Valley site gave him a serious marketing advantage, but he also has a lot of great skills that were invaluable to me in both buying and selling. When it came to buying, he used every possible tactic, from high tech social media to low tech knocking on doors and talking to people. We asked him to virtually pull a rabbit out of his hat in finding us a home in a neighborhood where nothing was listed, and he came up with not one, but two homes. He negotiated us a reasonable price in a seller's market, and was instrumental in keeping the deal together when the inevitable hiccups happened.
Even after the sale, he has kept in touch and even connected several new neighbors with us so we felt very welcome in our new neighborhood!

I met Robert about 2.5 years ago when he knocked on my door to introduce himself and asked if I'd ever be interested in selling, because he had connections in Silicon Valley... and Scotts Valley was emerging as a coveted area to live for tech commuters. At that time, I had only lived there a year and my home was brand new construction. I had no plans to move.
Fast forward a couple years and I needed to sell my home for personal reasons. Through years of receiving worthless fliers through the mail from unknown agents, I had never forgotten the guy who had the tenacity to knock on my door. Being in sales myself, that stood out to me as an exemplary quality.
At that same time, Robert happened to be the listing agent for my neighbor’s home. I walked over, reintroduced myself, although that wasn't needed because he remembered me after all that time.
After a comprehensive review of what Robert was able to offer from a Marketing standpoint - whether it be via pounding the pavement or his vast social media network, I knew there was no agent locally that was smarter or who would work harder for me.

Robert was very professional in his approach to selling my home and purchasing my new home, and explained the process as we worked through it, especially as this was a somewhat complicated process which included a 6 month rent back by the previous owner for the house I purchased. He also assisted by giving recommendations for repair work to the house I sold and the one I purchased. His reports, networking and marketing skills helped in the overall buy /sell process and helped me sell at a good price and buy at a fair price in a very inventory restricted market.

My wife and I have been renting in the Scotts Valley / Santa Cruz area for the past few years and have really grown to love the area. Robert is FANTASTIC! He is very detail oriented, very professional, very attentive...and most of all HE GETS THINGS DONE! He got me a generous price on the sale of my house and dealt with some difficult stuff concerning the purchase of our new home. But the bottom line is, he got it done, and within the 30 days we had to do it in. Robert went above and beyond to make sure we were safe in both transactions and is still helping us with things like helping us to reprogram our alarm and our high tech garage door opener (he is a wiz with high tech gadgets). His knowledge of the local market was extensive as we weighed the pros and cons of each house. Once we found the right home, Robert negotiated aggressively for us resulting in a $5,000 credit to cover several necessary repairs.
While waiting to move into our new home, Robert provided extensive service and support as we made a few repairs and upgrades prior to our move-in date. He made introductions to several top of the line service providers including roofers, painters, landscapers, tile installers and hardwood floor refinishers. Robert even guided several of these projects for us while we were out of town, following-up with these service providers on a daily basis to ensure the timely completion of all projects!! I have never met a realtor who goes to that length to serve his clients.
As if all of that wasn’t enough, Robert and Bailey Properties allowed us to use their parking lot on a Saturday for a charity car wash which helped send local kids to summer camp – He even matched what we raised!!!
Needless to say, in Robert I have found not only a superb realtor, but also a community leader and friend.
02/28/2014 - Robert was extremely helpful and diligent in pursuing our short sale. He was always available to answer questions and made the difficult transaction very convenient for us. He has even assisted us with post sale questions and has gone way beyond what he was obligated to do as our representative. 01/08/2014 - I met Robert over 20+ years ago when he helped my mom find the perfect home. I was a little protective over my mom when she sought a Real Estate agent to search for her new home. But after meeting Robert and hearing the passion and excitement in his voice, I felt relieved and sold that he was the right guy for the job. Since then, he has been a friend of the family and the first person I think of when the topic of Real Estate comes up.
Now I find myself in a situation where I am fortunate enough to buy into my own home. I think about the times when Robert took my mom out to search for properties and make suggestions and now I have the privilege to work with a professional and 27 year veteran in the field. 01/07/2014 - I have worked with Robert when buying and selling multiple properties around town and it has been a pleasure working with him each and every time.
I first got connected with him by taking one of his free classes he offered when he taught his Tips for Home Buyers and Tips for Home Sellers programs, and I had listened to him on his radio and TV programs as well.
I knew how important it was to work with an experienced Realtor, someone who knew all of the details and caveats we might see in various types of transactions. He had great advice on neighborhoods, information on loans and financing, the escrow process, etc. He always provided assistance above and beyond the expectations for a Realtor.
