Scotts Valley Senior Life Association (SVSLA) is a non-profit organization established to provide education and support relating to the health and welfare of senior citizens living in the area of Scotts Valley, California. We seek to enhance and add enjoyment to the lives of seniors in the community, provide educational opportunities with a focus on healthy living habits, and provide access to facilities that help seniors create their own healthy and fulfilling lives. SVSLA is an all-volunteer organization allowing nearly 100% of donations received to be used to directly help seniors living in the area of Scotts Valley. SVSLA was established in 2010 SVSLA and has sponsored many educational workshops (e.g., safety, health, finance, life planning) and provided grants to senior organizations to enhance healthy living (e.g., AED units, patio umbrellas, exercise video). Senior Citizens Legal Services (SCLS) provides free legal services to elderly residents of Santa Cruz and San Benito Counties. The highest priority of the organization is to defend the right of the elderly to quality health care, social integration, to secure their persons and property, and to be free of discrimination on the basis of age or disability.

Since the 1982 disaster, Valley Churches United Missions continues its “Missions of Love” in its permanent site in Ben Lomond. The mission has raised and distributed over eleven million dollars in assistance. Valley Churches United Mission’s programs reach out to over 400 families each month. The mission provides emergency food, crisis rent, utilities, medical, school supplies and disaster relief. The Mission operates 99% with volunteers.
