Joanne, known as “Jo” is the better half of the Jo and Ro Show (sorry Ro) that owns Bruno’s Bar and Grille which is famous for what they do for the community. Having won numerous community awards for all they do to help their community, it doesn’t hurt that their restaurant also serves some of the best food in town! But more than anything, Jo has become a “mover and shaker” in Scotts Valley and she has done so by consistently looking to see what cause or need exists where they can be involved in.

No doubt about it, her influence in town makes her a TOP 10 Positive Woman Influencer for 2024.

Before coming to Scotts Valley, where did you live?

I lived in Cupertino and moved to Scotts Valley in 1992.

What brought you to Scotts Valley and how long have you lived here?

As a new mother, I was looking for a safe and affordable place to raise my children, and Scotts Valley provided that and so much more.

What do you love most about living here?

I fell in love with the small-town feel and close-knit community. I am grateful for the safe and thriving small-town atmosphere here, which allowed me to raise my children in a place where the community supports and cares for one another. I truly believe it is one of the best places to live and work.

Please describe what drives and motivates you to do more for others and for the people of Scotts Valley.

My parents always instilled in me the importance of helping others and for me, it’s always been a priority, and I’ve been fortunate to have the opportunity to do that through volunteering.
