The Tannery Arts Center, Santa Cruz County’s first-in-the-nation art community that provides a sustainable, accessible and vibrant home for the arts in Santa Cruz County, will hold its annual Winter Art Market 6-9 p.m. Friday, Dec. 4, and 12-5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 5 and 6.

Shop local this holiday season and support small businesses by selecting gifts at the Winter Art Market. More than 50 artists will offer wares, including paintings, ceramics, printmaking, jewelry, sculpture, wearables, mixed media, books, textiles, leather and glass.

The Winter Art Market, held each year in the Tannery Courtyard and throughout the Studios, also will feature live music and the Small Works exhibit at Radius Gallery. Visitors will have the opportunity to make personalized gifts. The Printmakers at the Tannery, will host card making in Studio #107; Comso Chic will offer stocking making in Studio #117; and there will be ornament making for children with Linda Cover in Studio 116.

“The Winter Art Market is a festive place to shop for handmade gifts this season,” said Ann Hazels, owner of Radius Gallery and a longtime representative of the Tannery community. “DIY gift-making paired with musical performances, including caroling and harp music, add to the holiday spirit.”

Friday’s Winter Art Market also is part of First Friday Santa Cruz. In addition, the adjacent Working Studios at the Tannery Arts Center will be open to visitors throughout the weekend. Located in two historic buildings covering 25,000 square feet, the Working Studios serve as the headquarters to professional artists, educators and businesses, including five3genomics, JoyLabz, a frame shop and 27 studios dedicated to all art disciplines. Visitors will have the opportunity to tour the buildings. Studios open will include Apricity Gallery, Camp Tannery Arts, Elemental Art Gallery, Jewelry Toolery, Middlearth Editions, PATT and Radius Gallery. The Tannery World Dance & Cultural Center, located in the Working Studios, also will be open.
