I am a natural light portrait and lifestyle photographer and love to photograph high school/college seniors, engaged couples, maternity, and families as well as special events and weddings. I’m blessed to live and work in the beautiful Santa Cruz area of the California central coast which offers many fabulous locations to shoot. Dr. Oana Carnu
 Dr Carnu was awarded a PhD degree in Oral Biology and Pathology by State University of New York at Stony Brook for her research in adjunctive therapies for periodontal disease. After finishing her PhD, she earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from the University of California at San Francisco. Dr. Carnu was awarded membership in Omicron Kappa Upsilon, the National Honor Dental Society for her outstanding academic results.  She practiced as a General Dentist in East Bay Area and Marin County. She has a gentle and caring approach to dental treatment and treats her patients like family.
Oana grew up in a dental office, as she likes to say. Her father was a dentist and her first memories as a child are about taking rides up and down in the dental chair. She remembers the games her father invented when she was a little older "Who recognizes what's wrong with the tooth on the x-ray?" and how patiently he explained to her why teeth were hurting sometimes. When asked what career she was going to pursue, Oana knew there was only one answer for her, Dentistry. Â Dr. Carnu came to United States in 2002 after 3 years of practicing Dentistry back home in Romania. She was interested in expanding her knowledge in adjunctive therapies for periodontal disease and she participated in clinical research during her graduate program. Dr. Carnu has extensive experience in the treatment of periodontal disease and she has a considerable knowledge about the particularities of diabetic patients. After finishing her PhD, she moved on the Pacific coast to attend UCSF and obtain her DDS. Since then she practiced as a General Dentist in Bay Area.
While visiting San Lorenzo Valley on a sunny autumn day, she fell in love with the forest, with the way the sun was throwing a gold powder in the air and with the pace she found in Ben Lomond. This was the place that brought back memories of the mountains from home. This is where she met Dr. Anderson with whom she was sharing the same philosophies about patient care. She decided to continue Dr. Anderson tradition and she remained here. She thought that this would be an amazing place for her son to run around .
The Ben Lomond Fire Protection District is a volunteer department with a paid Fire Chief, twenty-eight volunteer safety members, and one clerical staff member. As a vocalist, I grew up in Scotts Valley, only leaving to pursue my college degrees and my singing career! I had the wonderful opportunities to tour with the likes of Bob Hope, George Burns, Danny Thomas, Vince Gil, Robert Goulet and many more. I've recorded in Nashville, Los Angeles and San Francisco. Appearances on National and regional television. Radio interviews and airplay.
I had the pleasure of studying under 8 very talented voice instructors, studying everything from Opeta,, Pop, Country, Jazz, Soul, Rhythm and Blues and Rock. One instructor, Seth Riggs, taught the likes of Michael Jackson, Natalie Cole, Barbara Streisand, Michael Bolton, J Lo and Christina Aguiletra, to name a few. Judy Davis,, taught Barbara Streisand, The Mama's and the Papa's, Seals and Croft, and many more. I bring to my students the great techniques of not only my previous voice teachers, but also my stage and television experience. Audition perpetration for not only musical theater, but also to ready them for television. performance and connecting to the audience, reading an audience and giving a piece of your soul to that audience, are key.
My years of experience, help bring this out in all students. I love my job, it is my passion, to bring out the best in each student, while making their learning experience Fun and exciting.
